Amazon introduces new Echo 8 and Echo Show 5 with improved cameras

Amazon has just renewed its line of smart speakers with display. These are the Echo Show 5 and Echo Show 8, which join the Echo Show 10 with improved cameras and navy blue as a new color option.

The next-generation Echo Show 5 retains its compact 5.5-inch widescreen display and moves from a 1 MP sensor to a 2 MP HD camera, a major upgrade that allows for video calls and live home viewing when the user is away.

This device also features a 100 percent recycled fabric finish, which is available in three colors (anthracite, white and the newly released navy blue). You can pre-order the device now for a discounted price of $84.99.

Meanwhile, the upgraded Echo Show 8 features an 8-inch display with adaptive color adjustment, a more powerful 8-core processor, stereo speakers and a powerful 13 MP camera.

It also comes with a physical cover to cover the camera lens for security. In addition, it incorporates the option to digitally shift the frame during video calls to keep all participants in the picture.

As for its applications, it includes those that were already known before, among which Netflix and Amazon Prime Video stand out.

You can pre-order your Echo Show 8 in two colors: anthracite and white, for an entry-level price of $129.99.

While you can pre-order both devices starting today, they will only begin shipping next month.
