Amazon Echo Show 15 arrives in Spain: official price and availability of Amazon's largest smart display

At the end of September last year Amazon presented its largest device to date: the Amazon Echo Show 15. It is a smart screen that, as its name suggests, has a size of 15.6 inches and is ready to be the control center of our home.

It has been a few months since its presentation in society, but finally Amazon has decided to bring it to our borders. Indeed, the Amazon Echo Show 15 arrives in Spain and we already know its official price and availability: 249.99 euros and on pre-sale from now.

Amazon’s biggest

The Amazon Echo Show 15 can be placed vertically or horizontally, as if it were a painting. With such a large screen, Amazon aims to use it both to watch content on platforms such as Netflix or Prime Video, and to make video calls. Its size is quite a step forward in terms of multimedia consumption.

As it could not be otherwise, the device has Alexa integrated. That way, we will be able to ask the assistant to play a movie in question, play music, play the news or play an audiobook from Audible, among so many other things. Needless to say, although we can use voice, the screen is touch-sensitive and we can interact with it using gestures.

Thanks to the integrated webcam (with a resolution of five megapixels), we can make video calls. The camera, however, is not always in view. We can cover it with a physical cover and, in addition, we can press a button to deactivate the microphones.

One of the new features that comes with this device is the Amazon AZ2 Neural Engine, a proprietary machine learning processor that is able to process machine vision algorithms locally and, in short, bring ID Visual to life.

What is ID Visual? Basically, it is a system that allows Alexa to recognize the person in front of the screen and the content it is displaying. Thanks to this feature, the Echo Show 15 will show us a personalized greeting, reminders, events from our calendar, recent music we have listened to and notes. Let’s say it’s a kind of curated profile for each user.

The Amazon Echo Show 15 is available for pre-order now through Amazon. It is only available in a single version and is priced at €249.99. It will start shipping on February 17.
